As the turkey brings your body to a sleepy conclusion on Thanksgiving, why not relax and unwind with the latest episode of Remember When?

Our Arnold Schwarzenegger series continues in Episode 26, as we sit down and reminisce about The Running Man. The Governator goes head to head against the ultimate pimp of game shows, giving us one of the cheesiest pieces of 80's film you could ever imagine.

Next, Jay takes a look at Predator, another fine piece of cinema he's never been exposed to before. Two governors go head to head against an extraterrestrial poacher that leaves a stream of bodies in its wake. A veritable cult classic, Jay looks on with fresh eyes at one of the more notable Arnie movies. Will he enjoy it in the spirit it's offered, or declare that its expiration date has long past?

Then we tangent off as Parris takes a look back on a recent movie, giving it a renewed opinion now that he's taken away a home viewing. The resulting conversation nearly has Jay falling over in shock.

You might hear us referencing a piece of reading material. You can find out all about it at this link: http://trekweb.com/stbbs/showThread.php?bid=FldwoPP0qETo2&tid=4b0864bb15219&cid=4b0864bb159ec&viewby=&sort=&order=#4b0864bb159ec

And speaking of tangents, we end the show with yet another "brief" spoiler-rich discussion of the fall TV season, talking about Parris' new favorite comedy, Jay's critical disappointments, and counting down to the return of an old favorite.

As always, Remember When continues to grow and thrive thanks to the joy, love, appreciation, and comments we get from our fans. If you enjoy our show, please leave us positive feedback on iTunes. We really appreciate it, plus it helps us reach people that have never heard of us! And if you'd like to share your thoughts with us, you can send us an email at feedback@talkingaboutgames.com or leave us a voicemail at 206-495-1732. Please note, long distance charges may apply.

IT'S NOT A TUMAH! And no, this isn't some sort of alternate reality crafted from your deepest desires. A new episode of Remember When is actually queued up and ready for you to download. Do it! Do it now!

Episode 25 brings you the first half of our Arnold Schwarzenegger bonanza. We take a look back on the Governator's film history, reminisce fondly about some of his greatest film moments, and laugh hysterically at some of his less than stellar moments.

It all starts with Conan The Barbarian, one of Arnold's early performances. It's the latest in the line of Great Movies Jay Has Never Seen, but as the film creeps up on its 30 year anniversary, will it stand the test of time? Will the 80's cheese fest and excessive use of loin cloths make Jay turn up his nose in disgust, or will Parris see another victory over one of his beloved pieces of film history? Find out in this week's show.

We also look back at one of the truly quintessential pieces of Arnold movies, as well as one of the best sci-fi movies of all time. Total Recall gets torn apart, rebuilt, and then torn apart again. Once it's said and done, we wipe its memory and throw it into a Johnny Cab.

And with the launch of "V" on ABC, we take a few minutes to talk about the newly re-imagined series. Can 25 years and a multi-million dollar budget per episode make up for Marc Singer's absence? Does Elizabeth Mitchell have what it takes to play a lead in a series? And most importantly, will the show's production hiatus play in its favor? Listen in and find out.

As always, Remember When continues to grow and thrive thanks to the joy, love, appreciation, and comments we get from our fans. If you enjoy our show, please leave us positive feedback on iTunes. We really appreciate it, plus it helps us reach people that have never heard of us!
After a brief and unintentional break in our regularly scheduled program, Remember When is back in style!

We kick off the show by commemorating the passing of one of the more notable actors from the 80's, Patrick Swayze. Sure, he's not a "classical" actor, but he was certainly a fixture in movies during the decade of punk rock and Members Only jackets. We start by talking about one of his campier and more memorable films, Red Dawn, and then move into Point Break, the latest entry in Great Movies Jay Has Never Seen.

Quentin Tarantino's latest cinema opus, Inglorious Basterds, serves as Act Two. Parris and Jay have both seen it, but is it any good? And will Jay be able to appreciate a Tarantino film for once? Listen in and find out.

Finally, we cap off the show with a look at what we're watching in the Fall TV season (and what you should be watching, too). A long-awaited wedding left us impressed, a troupe of kids in high school singing about their woes held surprises for us, and a mockumentary focusing on three different families reminds us that sitcoms aren't dead.

Spoiler alert: We both agree that The Cleveland Show is a tragedy.

If you enjoy our show, please leave us feedback on iTunes. It doesn't
just help us reach new listeners, it also gives us new opportunities
(listen in for details). And if you'd like to share your thoughts with

If you're tired of the summer blues, Remember When has the cure for
what ails you. We are proud to present Episode 22, where we give you the first part of our John Landis experience.

We kick off the show with the latest of Great Movies Jay Has Never
Seen. Our selection this week is Trading Places, a perennial favorite
from the 80's starring Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy. Does this comedy
still stand up over two decades later? And even more important, is Jay
going to be able to appreciate it after all this time? Listen in and
find out.

The discussion shifts over into Coming To America during the last half of the show. In the same universe as Trading Places, we talk about why this Eddie Murphy film is not only one of the best comedies to come out of the 1980's, but why it's quite possibly his best work ever in live action film.

All this, and tangents galore, are waiting for you in our newest episode.

Be sure and check out our brand new Twitter feed! We're located at http://twitter.com/RWPodcast

If you enjoy our show, please leave us feedback on iTunes. It doesn't just help us reach new listeners, it also gives us new opportunities (listen in for details). And if you'd like to give us your thoughts on the show, email us at feedback@talkingaboutgames.com and let us know where you stand. Or if you're more of a phone person, call our voicemail line at 206-495-1732. Please remember that all long distance charges apply.

Revenge of the Spicoli

Remember When is back, and this week's episode is more than meets the eye.

Our twenty first episode focuses on the recent Transformers movies from
Michael Bay. A childhood staple for both of us, we take a look at the
movies which tread upon the hallowed memories of our youth, a cherished
era when two children would stare wide eyed at one of the most
brilliant marketing efforts ever. We have a lot to talk about here,
with both live action movies coming under intense scrutiny.

We
also talk about Fast Times at Ridgemont High, the latest in the list of
Great Movies Jay Has Never Seen. Will this quintessential high school
film of the 80's stand the test of time, or will the passage of time
treat it poorly? Listen in and find out.

As always, Remember When continues to grow and thrive thanks to the
joy, love, appreciation, and comments we get from our fans. If you
enjoy our show, please leave us positive feedback on iTunes. We really
appreciate it, plus it helps us reach people that have never heard of

There is no fate but what we make for ourselves. And with that in mind, we bring you Episode 19 of Remember When, which focuses on the Terminator franchise.

Jay and Parris both had a chance to see Terminator: Salvation during its opening weekend, and had a lot to say about this new take on the popular sci-fi franchise. What's the verdict on Christian Bale, or the sudden jump to the future? Does the movie hold up? Grab the show and give it a listen if you want to find out.

We also talk briefly about the original Terminator, the reasons why Terminator 2 is nearly untouchable, and the questionable-yet-unappreciated factors of Terminator 3. Jay takes a minute to blast Fox over their decision to cancel Sarah Connor Chronicles, too.

For the many listeners of Remember When that enjoy Lost, we talk about the Season 5 finale and what our thoughts were on the Big Reveals, as well as some of the storyline twists.

Wondering what happened to our Matrix discussions? Don't worry, we're just tangent'ing right now. We've decided to do something extra special with the Matrix Revolutions episode by recording it next week, while we're in the same room together, so we can do a full and proper job and tearing down the horror that is Revolutions. Of course, that means you'll have back-to-back episodes of Remember When in just a week's time, as well.

We'd like to thank everyone once again for their continued support of Remember When. It's through your help, your love, and your appreciation that we managed to be featured on the TV & Film page of iTunes this week. Please keep up the support by leaving us feedback, rating us highly on iTunes, and telling your friends about us. If you'd like to drop us a line, please send us email at feedback@talkingaboutgames.com or call our voicemail line at 206-495-1732. Note: long distance charges apply

The needs of the few, or the one

We interrupt your regularly scheduled Matrix rundown to bring you an impromptu episode of Remember When.

Parris and Jay just got done watching the latest Star Trek movie, helmed by J.J. Abrams, and this episode was recorded on a spur of the moment lark, before either of us had a chance to discuss our thoughts. What results is the freshest voicing of opinions, before we've had a chance to prepare ourselves.

Part new territory, part reboot, and part time travel, the latest film in this beloved franchise has a lot riding on it. But is this the true Phoenix risen from the ashes, or does it fall flat on its face? We've got differences of opinion across the board here, with the two of us on opposite ends of the spectrum on quite a few points.

This episode is filled with spoilers from the new Star Trek movie, so make sure you've had a chance to see the film in theaters before listening to this episode.

We'll be capping off the Matrix trilogy soon, so don't think we've forgotten about Matrix Revolutions. I mean, we tried to forget it, but sometimes you just can't get over the scars.

If you enjoy our show, please leave us feedback on iTunes. It helps us reach new listeners, it helps us keep the show going, and gives us the drive to make this show bigger and better with each episode. And if you'd like to leave us direct feedback, you can email us at feedback@talkingaboutgames.com or call our voicemail line at 206-495-1732.

... or at least, that's what The Architect wants you to believe.

Remember When has plugged itself back into the system, with our latest episode dedicated to The Matrix Reloaded, and we've got a lot to talk about.

Our episode kicks off with a discussion on the hype leading up to one of the most anticipated sequels in cinema history. With its marketing campaign in overdrive and a bevy of nonstop commercials, was Warner Bros. writing a check it couldn't cash?

We also discuss the release of The Animatrix, a companion anime piece to the Matrix trilogy which managed to captivate us almost as much as the first movie.

Oh, and we talk about The Matrix Reloaded, too. It was a struggle, but we both rewatched the middle movie and.... well, we won't spoil the fun. Needless to say, we have quite a lot to talk about. Neo's connection to Pi, the curse of the film shoot, Parris' hype for the most anticipated sequel in his lifetime, and so much more.

We hope you enjoy our second entry in the Matrix discussions. If you like Remember When, please leave us positive feedback on iTunes. It only takes 60 seconds, and it helps introduce us to new listeners and keep the show going. And if you'd like to let us know your thoughts on The Matrix Reloaded or The Animatrix, you can email us at feedback@talkingaboutgames.com or call our voicemail number at 206-495-1732 and leave us a message. Please note, long distance charges may apply.

Do you want to know what it is?

Do you want to know what it is?

You've asked us for it, you've begged us for it, and after 11
months, it's finally here. Jay and Parris sit down in the latest
episode of Remember When to talk about The Matrix.

Much like our
Star Wars prequel episodes, we'll be devoting one episode to each of
the films in the Matrix trilogy. We kick off our Matrix series by
looking at the trendsetting first release in the trilogy. Where were we
when The Matrix released? What did we think about it when we first saw
it? And now, almost 10 years since its release, does it hold up upon
repeat viewings?

We cover everything in the first movie, from
the opening shots to the closing credits and all the cool stuff in
between (and even the small stuff you probably missed). We talk about
the Philosophy of The Matrix, the biblical, literary, cultural, and
film references it pays homage to, and even consider the relevance of
The Matrix in today's slate of film releases.

This two hour podcast finally answers the question: What is The Matrix?

If you enjoy our show and we entertain you or make you laugh and
smile, please take a few seconds and leave us feedback on iTunes. We
really appreciate it, and it helps our show reach new listeners! If
you'd like to send us a note, please feel free to contact us at feedback@talkingaboutgames.com and let us know what you think!

We're also pleased to announce our new voice mail number! You can call us at 206-495-1732
and leave us a message with your thoughts on the show. Please note
that this is a Washington state area code, and long distance fees might
apply.

Jay and Parris are back, and we're here with Episode 13 of Remember When!

And we hope you're settled in for a long winter's night, because we've got a doozy of a show. With as important as the final prequel film is, we're skipping our normal segments and focusing entirely on Revenge of the Sith. After all, there's a lot we need to discuss.

We talk about the many lost opportunities presented by Episode III (Hello, General Grevious), the awesome moments that sent us into a fanboy high, and the areas that just left us scratching our heads. We talk about the questionable dialog, the inconsistent plot points, the lack of direction, and the failed attempts at romantic subplots. It's an extravaganza, and nothing is off limits in Lucas's final Star Wars live action film.

We also rank the entire Star Wars saga and discuss which movies are at the top of the list, and which are towards the bottom. Listen in, you might be surprised!

If you enjoy our show, please leave us positive feedback on iTunes. We really appreciate it, and it helps new people find us. If you'd like to give us your feedback on the show, please email us at feedback@talkingaboutgames.com and let yourself be

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away, there was a show called Remember When. Well, we're back, and we've hit the ground running with Episode 10.

To kick off this week's show, we're talking about our current hotness: Season 7 of The Shield, which is currently running on FX. This powerhouse show is airing its final episodes, and as the show works towards its wrap up, we talk about the long and enjoyable journey that The Shield has offered, some of our thoughts on how it ends up (especially for Vic Mackey), and plot lines we'd like to see explored and completed before the ending.

Not a fan of The Shield? Then jump to the 31:00 mark in the show, when we bring you the long anticipated discussion that we promised you in Episode 8: Star Wars, the prequels. You've asked for it, you've been clamoring for it, you've sent us emails and private messages about it, and now it's finally here. We talk about the things that Lucas got right in The Phantom Menace (yes, there actually are some!), the things we disliked, and our experiences with the prequel series.

Of course, it wouldn't be a Star Wars discussion without a cliffhanger...

We'd like to thank all of the fans who sent us email and supportive notes during our hiatus. We really appreciate it! If you enjoy our show and we entertain you or make you laugh and smile, please take a few seconds and leave us feedback on iTunes. We really appreciate it! If you want to send us your thoughts on this episode, you can email us at feedback@talkingaboutgames.com

No Time for Love, Dr. Jones

The summer movie season has kicked off, and it seems only fitting that our new show is dedicated to one of the quintessential adventure franchises: Indiana Jones.

We start off with our discussion on Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, the latest release in the Indiana Jones series. After almost 20 years, is Indiana Jones still awesome? We also talk about the rest of the Indiana Jones series, our favorite moments, and the parts we just really hated. If you're looking to avoid spoilers for Crystal Skull, fast forward to 21:20, when most of the spoilers are out of the way.

... wait, that's not enough? OK, we'll throw in a few tangents for you!

Jay watched The Iron Giant, but did he like it?

We also talk about one of the quintessential comedy films from the last 10 years (we won't spoil the name for you).

Parris gives us his crazy (but good) theory on who the Final Cylon is in Battlestar Galactica.

The season finale for Lost comes up, with a spoiler filled discussion as well. (52:00 to 1:13:20)

Do you enjoy our show? If so, leave us some feedback on the iTunes store or send us your comments at feedback@talkingaboutgames.com

Remember When - Live

In this special episode, which was captured during a recent recording of UncleGamer Live, we offer up an impromptu Live chat for Remember When. After we finished the UncleGamer show, Parris and I took calls from some of our listeners asking about recent show topics and our movie interests. It was a fun chance to connect with our listeners, and we hope you enjoy it.

This endeavor is being considered for a future segment, where we'd do a 'real' Live show with anyone able to participate. So please, send us your comments at feedback@talkingaboutgames.com and let us know what you think!

The Iron Knight

Our third episode kicks off with Jay's opinions on Caddyshack. Yes, he finally sat down and watched it. What was his take on it? Find out at the start of the show.

We also had a chance to see the new release of Iron Man this past weekend. Does Marvel's newest superhero flick live up to expectations? We also tangent off into a discussion about the upcoming cavalcade of summer movies, and the awesome releases coming over the next few months (as well as the less-than-awesome ones)

The new trailers for The Dark Knight and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls debuted this week, and we geek out over each of them.

As a cautionary note, the Iron Man discussion contains a ton of spoilers for the movie. If you haven't seen it yet, skip from the start of the discussion to the 35:15 mark, which places you outside of the spoiler blast radius.

We really appreciate our listeners, and if you enjoy our show, we hope you'll take 60 seconds out of your day and leave us a positive review on iTunes. Also, if you want to give us your feedback, you can email us at feedback@talkingaboutgames.com
